Me & Mani's
Here goes my first blog post…eeek
So for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Tayjal Mistry, I’m a creative designer and maker, I am your stationery stylist! A cool, collated, creative and smart individual with a passion for all things love and paper.
I’m a wife, daughter, sister, female entrepreneur and graphic designer, crafter and love the colour yellow! I have a passion for fusing traditional processes, styles, old and new to perfectly capture your style, personality and expectation in creating your vibrant and unforgettable stationery.
So I’m guessing you’re wondering where the name Mani’s Creative came from if she's called Tayjal?? Growing up with my Guji family, I would always be around my Ba (granny) and Bapa’s (granddads) house. Who remembers those summer holidays at granny and granddad's house?? I was blessed to live in the same town as my grandparents and used to see bapa first hand making and crafting, from wooden tables and stools to intricate temples. Mani’s Creative has been established in honour of my bapa Manibhai Mistry, a gracious, traditional man, and a true inspiration.
It's been an interesting journey since starting out over 5yrs ago, where my passion and journey for stationery began. It wasn’t easy, social media was just starting, Instagram wasn’t so big. It’s been a long learning curve, but I’m in a good place, working with clients who are looking for a step away from the norm.
I’m a true northerner at heart, from Manchester but based in London. I love fish and chips (you can’t beat chips and gravy) and travelling, exploring new places and of course crafting.
I can safely say I’ve been creative my whole life; it started from college when I thought I wanted to become an architect but took a turn to studying Graphic Design at University. My passion has always been stationery, but it took me a little while to realise that. I got my first role as a digital designer (my worse nightmare!) in London with a well know fashion retailer. I guess nearly 8 years on it’s been my bread and butter, so I must be dong something right!
My calling for stationery grew, after I designed and created some wedding stationery for my brother’s wedding a few years back and it all flourished and grew from there.
